Magistrates and the judicial world are being stigmatized for failures that are actually those of the State. Increasingly repressive laws are multiplying without the government taking the trouble to ensure that the judiciary has the material and human resources to enforce them.
Nicolas Sarkozy, who has been both Minister of the Interior and President of the Republic since 2002, cannot shift the burden of the failure of his security policy onto the judiciary. He must accept that one cannot claim to do more and better with ever fewer resources and personnel within the justice system and the police.
