This weekend in Nice, the 2nd edition of the Puppy Fair was held. Sold by breeders, these puppies delighted the buyers, most of whom showed great confidence in this organization.
“It’s a real joy! Dogs are affectionate and tender companions. I already have two, but I had been thinking about adopting another one for a while. I fell for a Yorkie.” At the exit of the Puppy Fair, this new owner leaves satisfied, holding a three-and-a-half-month-old puppy named Lovely Boy, feeling reassured. Having had a bad experience previously, she explains: “Seven years ago, I bought a small dog from a store. Within 48 hours, he fell ill. And a few years later, he died prematurely. I’m not blaming the stores’ seriousness, but I was disappointed.” Knowing that such accidents are rare, she still made her choice: “I know that here, the sellers are professional breeders. I can contact them if there are any problems. So, I trust them.” This trust was constantly present during these two days of exhibition and sale.
For the Souligoux family, the preference indeed goes towards breeders. Initially coming for a simple walk, this family left with Aribo. This three-month-old grey-haired Cane Corso won over both parents and children, especially the father. “We already have a dog. But in this Fair, the choice is so vast that we couldn’t resist. It will also please our dog who is waiting at home. He will now have a playmate.” The mother, Christelle, then continues: “We did think about it beforehand. But since we have a garden and we know how his training should be done, nothing prevented us from taking Aribo. Especially since the Fair is a very reassuring place to find a pet. This puppy was born in a countryside breeding. There’s nothing better!”
So many reactions that align with what Patricia Moreau, an organizer of this Fair, intended. “We choose the exhibitors ourselves. The choice is made according to certain criteria. All hold a certificate of competence and have a transport permit issued by the Veterinary Service Directorate.” This is necessary to guarantee the safety of the puppies during transport. “This Fair is the result of our love for animals and well-done work. I am satisfied with the result.”
