On the occasion of the inauguration of the development of the Quai des Etats-Unis today, the Statue of Liberty by sculptor Bartholdi will be unveiled. It will be installed on a 2-meter high pedestal on the new Quai des Etats-Unis, facing the Nice Opera House.
As part of this operation, the southern sidewalk of the Quai des Etats-Unis has been widened to create a new pedestrian area of one hectare by the seaside.
A 400-meter long, 3-meter wide bike path has also been set up, while a longitudinal planter of 1,000 m² has been installed, planting 31 palm trees and 7 trees and shrubs. The public lighting network has been completely renovated.
As a reminder, in April 1917, by resolution of the Municipal Council, the Quai du Midi became the Quai des Etats-Unis.
