In 2050, there will be 10 billion human beings on the planet. A deep dive into the heart of globalized food systems, meeting the alternatives emerging around the planet: artificial meat, insects, GMO fish, laboratory farms, cities in transition, and anti-waste measures are featured in this formidable journey into the world of tomorrow in search of an answer to the explosive issues of food security.
As part of Alimenterre, Agribio 06 is organizing a discussion about consumption patterns and solutions around the theme: “What’s on our plates?” with the participation of organic farmers.
The day will include a visit (at 2 PM) to the farm* with farmers Bastien Cavallotto and Jeremie Vozza, newly settled (organic market gardening), followed (at 3 PM) by a Soup Workshop with vegetables from the farm, to be enjoyed after the screening (at 4 PM) of the film “10 Billions, What’s on Your Plate?” (100 min, by Valentin Thurn):
This event is part of the national Alimenterre Campaign coordinated by the French Committee for International Solidarity.
From October 15 to November 30, in France and in 9 countries, it invites debates with specialists on global agricultural and food issues, based on a selection of documentary films.
Agribio is the association of organic producers in the Alpes-Maritimes, created by farmers 30 years ago. It works to promote and develop organic agriculture in the region. There are more than 200 certified organic farms, proof that agriculture in the region is booming!
