The Raid Edhec at the starting blocks

Latest News

For the 19th consecutive year, the association EDHEC Aventures, composed of EDHEC students, is organizing the EDHEC Raid from May 30 to June 3, 2012. This is a 5-day sports race in the hinterlands of Nice.

Recognized as one of the most demanding Raids in France, the 2012 EDHEC Raid will feature a 250 km orientation course with over 10,000 meters of positive elevation, combining trail running, biathlon, mountain biking, climbing (with via ferrata), and white water sports (sea kayaking, canyoning). The teams, composed of 4 people including at least one female, are both students and professionals.

New this year, the EDHEC Raid has been selected as one of the 10 stages of the National Challenge GNRMN (Groupement National des Raids Multisports de Nature), which has attracted high-level teams, such as Team Quechua, several-time world champions.

On Wednesday, May 30, the 25 teams will embark on a memorable 5-day adventure in the Roya Valley: once again this year, the beauty of the landscapes and the immersion in an extraordinary natural setting will be on the agenda. Throughout the event, the website https://www.raidedhec.com will allow for live tracking of the teams’ progress and will provide daily rankings.

On Sunday, June 3, after 4 days of complete change of scenery, the competitors will cross the finish line on the Promenade des Anglais, near the Thรฉรขtre de Verdure, at the heart of our “Sport and Nature” finish village.

Open from 10 AM to 6 PM, this village, composed of stands hosted by local associations and businesses, is a great family outing: many attractions will be reserved for children, including a climbing wall and a bouncy castle. A raffle will be organized, with a mountain bike worth 600 euros as the prize.

Noteworthy is the presence of Nastasia Noens, one of the best French skiers and patron of the 2012 EDHEC Raid, who will hold a signing booth.
