Yesterday, on the first day of school, Emmanuel ETHIS, the rector of the Nice academy, visited several educational institutions to present the 2018 – 2019 school year to the students.
After visiting the Saint-Roch School Group, the Joseph Vernier College, and the Massรฉna High School in the late morning, Emmanuel Ethis, rector of the Nice academy and Chancellor of the Universities, went to the Imperial Park High School yesterday afternoon.
There, he met with students and teaching staff to inaugurate and wish “a school year full of happiness at the school of trust.” The program included orchestral songs, prevention measures, and a pre-school briefing. The highlight of the day was the reform of the Baccalaureate and the introduction of the vigipirate plan in schools.
Before an attentive tenth-grade class, the teaching staff, accompanied by the Rector, were able to explain and train the students on security instructions to be adopted in case of an emergency (see photo below).
He also addressed the issue of the Baccalaureate reform: “a new Bac in which we will have more continuous assessment, alongside final exams, with an assessment test between mathematics and French.”
The goal is to better place the students to accompany them optimally until the final exam, while avoiding the pressure of the decisive day. “A supportive Baccalaureate that will better prepare students for their future and their choices. The main aim being the well-being of the children. Continuous assessment will better justify who you are and how the student has built their journey over the three years.”
