As part of the SMART Deal, the Departmental Council of the Alpes-Maritimes unanimously voted for the redevelopment project of the CADAM, named Eco CADAM.
The goal is to accomplish, in partnership with the State, a strategic real estate project for the next 20 years.
The benefits of this project are multiple: bringing back the SDIS 06 headquarters to a smart building; reorganizing and optimizing the site; improving the working conditions of the staff and reducing the energy consumption of existing buildings.
Nearly 40 years after its inauguration, at a time of the major development operation EcoVallรฉe, the CADAM, as a sentinel of the Plaine du Var, must also undergo its transformation and remain a key institutional site.
Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy, president of the Departmental Council, is the initiator of this project.
He explains his motivation: “As part of the SMART Deal, I intend to initiate the concept of a reinvented and reimagined administrative center centered around the construction of a Smart Building to bring back the SDIS headquarters and bring together all the operational centers in managing the safety of property and people and the use of data: the SDIS, traffic management, meteorological data, environmental data.”
For him, “this major operation should optimize the site by densifying it and freeing up land especially in its northeast part, in contact with the Moulins neighborhood, to open the site to the city of Nice. It also involves improving working conditions and reducing the energy consumption of existing buildings.”
