International Volunteer Missions in Morocco

jpg_IJCAsite.jpgThe French Association of Volunteers for Progress is seeking volunteers for missions located in Morocco, in the Tanger-Tetouan region.

Two missions are offered:

The first, for a duration of one year, involves supporting rural development projects south of Tangier. For this mission, the profile sought is someone with higher education in micro-project management and local development.

The second involves supporting projects in a student environment in Tangier itself, for a duration of two years. For this mission, the profile sought is someone with a background in management and experience in managing associative projects.

Volunteers will be compensated, accommodated, will benefit from social coverage, travel expenses, and a reintegration bonus upon return.

A Grant for Animation Projects

Do you want to engage in bringing animation to your community?
The “Anim’ ta commune” project grant may allow you to set up actions, if you are selected.
This grant is open to all individuals from the European Union, both individually and as groups.

The project must:

be subject to joint realization;
promote meeting and exchange;
be relevant, innovative and feasible starting from March 2009 at the latest;
be planned in connection with the commune where it will take place.

The awarded projects will receive:

personalized methodological support;
assistance in finding funding;
communication around the project.

The first prize will additionally receive a grant worth €1000.

A Correspondence-Based Remedial School Program

To prepare well for the new school year, a correspondence-based remedial school program is being offered.

This formula allows you to follow courses flexibly, adapting to your pace, work location, and schedules.

It is offered for elementary, middle, and high school students.
Courses are taught by national education teachers.

A correction service will evaluate the work starting from July 15.

An electronic or telephone tutoring service is also offered, to assist and guide the child in their revisions.

Registrations are open from May 15 to August 22, 2008.

Holidays in Nature

A holiday center is set up for children aged 6-14 on the Caussols plateau (06).

With over 20 hectares of meadows and forest, the center can accommodate 72 youngsters, half in marabout tents and the other half in buildings.

On-site, numerous facilities are planned: 2 tennis courts, a soccer field, a volleyball court, foosball, ping-pong, mountain biking…

Also offered are:

Various workshops to choose from: sports, cultural, crafts, theater…

Rich and varied activities: large themed games, scavenger hunts, picnics, camping, daily evening gatherings, horse riding day, mountain biking, day at the Grasse swimming pool…

The stays will take place from July 3 to 16, and from July 17 to 30, 2008.

The Cinema-Reading Checkbook includes eight vouchers of 7 or 4 euros to buy books and discover the latest movies in theaters.

This passport for culture and leisure is offered by the Region and has a total value of 44 euros.

It is intended for young people in the following situations:

  • High school student
  • Apprentice
  • Young person followed by a local mission
  • Student of specialized institutes
  • Scholarship student

To benefit from the Cinema-Reading Checkbook, simply make a request by filling out the order form and providing proof of your situation.

Only one order is possible per year per person.

German-French Stays for Young People

German learners, have you thought about Franco-German meetings during the holidays?

There are formulas allowing you to participate, in France or Germany, in Franco-German meetings and stays:

Numerous stays are offered for young people, aged 10 to 18, throughout the summer. They include linguistic and sports activities, recreational and discovery activities, and take place in binational groups.

An itinerant stay for young adults, aged 18 to 21 years, allows discovering the Franco-German border in a new light, by crossing back and forth across the Rhine (from Basel to Strasbourg). Language courses and an unusual discovery program are planned. This stay is organized from August 4 to 19, 2008.

A themed Franco-German meeting is organized for 18-27-year-olds, on the shores of Lake Constance. Titled “The Art of Seducing Us, Advertising in France and Germany,” it offers a confrontation of knowledge and ideas of participants, a critical reflection and an awareness of bi-cultural work. Leisure activities are also planned, such as wind-surfing, table tennis, biking… The meeting takes place from August 29 to September 7, 2008.

Animation Festival in Saint-Raphael

The tenth animation festival will take place on May 31 and June 1, 2008, in Var, at Saint-Raphael.

Scheduled events include:

  • May 31, starting at 2:00 PM:

A music showcase with scenes of current music genres, starting right from the opening;
A permanent exhibition of partner associations, animations for children and adults, expression workshops, hip-hop, games, stories for all ages;
Forum and discussion: “The Place of Youth, Actor in Society”;
An evening of music scenes, and “I love BUBBLES” evening with DJ JM Arezzo.

  • June 1, starting at 10:30 AM:

Animations, workshops, and music scenes;
Official reception, with the inauguration of the “les mouettes” pavilion, awarding of the silver medal for youth and sports and an honorary cocktail;
Announcement and awarding of prizes to the winning group of the music showcase.
