The release of Martin Bourboulon’s film, Eiffel, has been postponed once again. Initially scheduled for August 25th, it will finally hit theaters on October 13th.
But when will we be able to see Romain Duris and Emma Mackey on the big screen? Martin Bourboulon’s ambitious film keeps facing release delays. Originally planned for March 10th, then May 5th, May 19th, and August 25th, it will ultimately be released on October 13th. The reason? Most likely the pandemic and recently the health pass requirements.
Indeed, from the very start of the project, Eiffel has continuously overcome obstacles. The story idea dates back to Caroline Bongrand… in 1997. She then had numerous meetings and received many proposals from directors (including Luc Besson). However, each project eventually fell through. It wasn’t until 2018 that Martin Bourboulon came into the picture. The first part of the filming took place from late August to October 2019. The second part resumed on June 1st, 2020 (due to the early-year lockdown) for a duration of 5 weeks. This was followed by 36 weeks of editing. We were far from expecting that in August 2021, the film would still not be out.
