On Tuesday, Charles Ange Ginésy, President of the Alpes-Maritimes Department, will visit the commune of Guillaumes, where he will be welcomed by Jean-Paul David, the Mayor of Guillaumes. During his visit, he will take the opportunity to observe the ongoing renovation works of the Château and will launch the augmented reality application.

Thanks to this innovation, visitors to the château will be able to immerse themselves in the era of Vauban at the beginning of the 18th century through the use of a tablet. This device offers a historical reconstruction based on a walk along the wooded path leading to the building.

They will be able to discover the constructions of Vauban, including the bastions, curtain wall, and château, as they have never been seen before their destruction in 1760 following the Treaty of Turin (March 24, 1760).

The reconstruction of the building and the city’s ramparts, as well as the surrounding landscape, faithful to the reality of that time, represent unique historical testimonies of this era. They bring the château back to life in an original way.

This project is part of a broader economic development strategy aimed at enhancing tourist attraction throughout the territory.
