The President of the Republic of Nissa, Cristou Daurore, wanted to extend his wishes for 2016 by reaffirming the principles of local traditions: “I want to thank all those who help us and believe that we can live better in a small federated country that will respect diversity and keep our local languages and cultures alive.”

“We hold on to the hope that we can move forward this year despite all the difficulties; we want to live together in joy, love for one another, justice, freedom, and sharing.” He then took advantage of the opportunity to reflect on the past year:

“2015 was marked by the attacks in Paris in January and November. We sympathize with the families of the victims and realize that we must increase the security of the citizens of the Republic of Nissa.”

On September 26, 2015, Mr. Pierre Donadey, mayor of L’Escarène, honored the memory of the Barbets, victims of the French repression, during the French occupation from 1792 to 1814. He also named a small square in the village after Lalin Fulconis, a Barbet hero.

On September 28, 2015, on the occasion of the National Festival of the Republic of Nissa, which honored the 627th anniversary of the Dedication of Nissa to Savoy, we presented the future Local Currency of Nissa: the NISSART.”

The implementation of a local currency for Nissa, with a Charter for Merchants who wish to participate

Legal studies to contest the Annexation of the County of Nissa to France, before the competent international courts

The organization of Cabinet meetings in the municipalities of the Republic (collection of proposals and complaints).

Consultations to study the future of the communes of Menton and Roquebrune in relation to the Principality of Monaco.

Aid to improve the reception of foreigners.”
