The Republican Forum of Nice at Heart: Rise Up, Rebuild, and Come Together

Latest News

On July 14th, Nice was struck to its core, at its most symbolic site, the Promenade des Anglais. The victims reflected the diversity of Nice, its history, coming from all backgrounds, all faiths, whether locals or tourists.

Starting on July 15th, controversies erupted, with the city hall blaming the State, and the National Front targeting the municipal majority. All those who used the attack as a platform for political posturing do not come out of this period looking good, a time which demanded respect and dignity towards the victims and their families.

Now, we must move forward, come together beyond our political labels or personal ambitions because the moment demands it. We need to rise and rebuild a sense of communal living. This unity is what the people of Nice are expecting.

This is what led the “Nice au Cล“ur” team to organize, on Saturday, September 3rd, 2016, from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Maison des Associations Garibaldi, this Forum on Republican Equality, an open space for discussion available to all citizens. It will feature on-the-ground testimonies, analyses, and concrete proposals to improve communal living and revive Republican Equality.

Thematic workshops will take place in the morning*, while in the afternoon, a round table on the theme “Strengthening the Republic” will bring together Xavier Garcia (First Departmental Secretary of PS 06), Ladislas Polski (Departmental President of MRC), Nathalie Audin (Departmental Leader of UDE), Khaled Ben Abderrahmane (Departmental Representative of the “En Marche” movement 06), Pascal Reva (Organizer of the “Nuit Debout” movement 06), and Juliette Chesnel-Le-Roux (Representative of the EELV group 06).

Patrick Allemand will present the conclusions.
