Starting this Monday, July 31, the departmental gendarmerie group of the Alpes-Maritimes is once again being reinforced this summer by a mounted detachment of the republican guard to ensure public safety around the beaches of coastal towns and in the departmental natural parks along the coast.
Indeed, since 2011, this security operation, jointly conducted by the Department and the National Gendarmerie, particularly the Republican Guard, has proven its effectiveness by helping to stem the phenomenon of prostitution, reduce thefts from vehicles, and curb antisocial behavior.
This year, in addition to their mission, the republican guard is working closely with fire and rescue services to actively participate in monitoring forest areas to combat forest fires.
