It was in the air, now itโs official: Eric Ciotti will assume the role of president of the Republicans’ National Nomination Committee.
He was appointed this Tuesday by the party’s Political Bureau on a proposal from Laurent Wauquiez, with whom he shares a radical right-wing orientation, and the decision will be ratified by the National Council, which will meet next Saturday.
โThank you to @laurentwauquiez for his trust. Reconquest and unity will be the two watchwords of my action as president of the #CNI @lesRepublicains,โ is the comment from the elected representative from the French Riviera.
The deputy from Alpes-Maritimes will succeed Jean-Franรงois Lamour in this role, who himself succeeded Christian Estrosi.
This body will have deputies Michรจle Tabarot and Patrice Verchรจre, senator Roger Karoutchi, and MEP Nadine Morano as vice-presidents.
Two other elected representatives from Nice will be part of it, senator Dominique Estrosi-Sassone and deputy Marine Brรฉnier.
Recently elected to the questure of the National Assembly, Eric Ciotti is increasingly โembeddingโ himself in national politics.
Will he take a step back from local politics, or will he continue to closely follow his successor to the presidency of the Departmental Council, Charles-Ange Ginรฉsy, to ensure it is clear that he is still the โbossโ?
