On the occasion of Mother’s Day, the President of the UPCR (Union Patronale des Cafetiers Restaurateurs et Métiers de la Nuit Côte d’Azur) Mr. Hubert BOIVIN, in collaboration with the Red Cross Nice delegation represented by its acting President since 1993, Mrs. Marie-Christine MIRAGLIA, and the Social Action Office of the City of Nice as well as the participation of the management of the Restaurant “Le Ligure,” Mr. and Mrs. CHAMPY, invited 150 people who are often forgotten and not fortunate enough to be with family.
Mr. Gérald FAZINCANI, Deputy Mayor and delegate for tourism, made a kind speech that touched those present.
Also noteworthy was the presence of the President of the REMEMBRANCA NISSARDA, Mr. Félix MACRI, and Mrs. LABBE from the BPCA, who is always supporting the UPCR in their good deeds. We must also not forget the UPCR volunteers: Henri, Mireille, Frédéric, and Vivianne.
A welcoming aperitif was offered, and a Niçois meal was served to the 150 attendees in a warm atmosphere where joy could be seen on faces illuminated with happiness. Bringing joy to our elders is a simple act that each of us can perform through small, repeated gestures they will not forget and that will help them in the lonely and tough times of life.
Upon leaving the restaurant, a rose, provided by the BPCA, was given to each mother present, and the emotion was palpable.
A compliment to these Nice restaurateurs for this most enjoyable event, hoping it will be back next year.
