Two polling stations in the 06 region had their results annulled due to several failings.
During this first round of the presidential elections, several polling stations provided results that were not counted. Two of these polling stations are located in the Alpes-Maritimes.
It was the Constitutional Council that identified irregularities in these polling stations in the region. First, the results from the polling station in the Saint-Antoine de Grasse district were annulled because the Constitutional Council found that the ballot box was “open, in such a way that it was possible to insert voting ballots through an opening other than the one intended for this purpose.”
The second polling station flagged was located in Nice, in the Moulins district. It was for a different reason than that in Grasse that the votes were annulled. Indeed, the Constitutional Council noted “significant and unexplained discrepancies between the number of votes cast, the number of blank or null ballots, and the number of signatures.”
