As part of the “C’est pas Classique” festival, the Department of Alpes-Maritimes is celebrating classical music with the “Revisited Classics.”

ZAHIR QUARTET – Cumparsita 1917 – Saturday, November 3 at 3:00 PM – Salle Athéna

The Zahir Quartet was born in 2015 from an artistic and human encounter between four young saxophonists from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique (CNSM) in Paris. Recognized on the international scene, they perform throughout Europe and Japan. What unites this ensemble is a shared sensitivity, high standards, and the desire to renew the musical landscape. The quartet will present works of various genres, ranging from the Tango of Astor Piazzolla to the classical music of Claude Debussy. A true musical journey that captivates the audience every time.

CAFE ZIMMERMAN – Vivaldi’s “Estro Armonico” – Saturday, November 3 at 9:15 PM – Salle Athéna

Café Zimmermann is a baroque music ensemble created in 1999 by violinist Pablo Valetti and harpsichordist Céline Frisch. Since 2014, Café Zimmermann has been hosted at the Cathédrale Sainte-Réparate in Nice by the Moments Musicaux des Alpes-Maritimes. They offer to (re)discover the violin concertos “Estro Armonico,” which brought Vivaldi his international reputation as a virtuoso violinist and composer. These monuments of string music from the first half of the 18th century are accompanied by cello concertos composed later by Vivaldi.

SPINA BENIGNETTI PIANO DUO – “Four-Hand Piano Recital” – Sunday, November 4 at 5:00 PM – Salle Hermès

The Spina – Benignetti duo offers a program dedicated to the four-hand piano repertoire. After the famous “Fantasy in F Minor” by Schubert D940, Eleonora and Michèle will play the “Six Pieces Op. 11,” one of Rachmaninoff’s first compositions, inspired by Chopin’s romanticism and Tchaikovsky’s symphonies. To conclude the program, the Suite “Souvenirs,” a tribute to salon dancing and the New York of 1914 by American composer Samuel Barber.
