The 2009 Route du Rire is a unique event: a tour of free comedy shows, alongside three auditions to discover the comedians of tomorrow, which will take place in Paris. But it is also, starting this year, a short program aired weekly on France 4.

In its previous editions in 2007 and 2008, the Route du Rire and its jury of professionals introduced the public to young exceptional comedians, the comedy stars of tomorrow!

Three of them will come to showcase their talents in front of the Nice audience in the magnificent Casino at the Palais de la Mรฉditerranรฉe in Nice.

The initiative behind this wonderful project is Volkswagen, which for this third edition, has once again simply surrounded itself with the best: Cyril Hanouna (ambassador of the operation), Warner Music Entertainment (production), Productions Illimitรฉes (executive production), and France 4, the leading broadcaster of live shows, turning this event into a unique TV program starting March 7.

It is thus quite naturally that the brand envisioned and launched this innovative and civic event, which discovers and supports the comedians of tomorrow while offering the whole of France a moment of unforgettable and unprecedented laughter.

After the success of the 2007 and 2008 editions, the Route du Rire is committed once again to discovering and presenting to the public funny young talents.

Proud of those discovered during the last two years, the brand puts them on stage throughout a tour of 7 shows across France, before a grand finale in Paris, alongside big names in comedy and a perfect master of ceremonies for this role: Cyril Hanouna.

Three of the 2007 and 2008 laureates will be on stage on Thursday, March 19 in Nice: Charlotte Gabris, les Yโ€™a Nos Styles, and Mathieu Madรฉnian.
