The integration of a gaming console in a retirement home: a double therapeutic interest.

Surrounded by their families and the entire medical and activities team, the residents will be able to try brain games or memory maintenance exercises, as well as physical maintenance exercises.

The Wii is particularly suitable for elderly dependent people as playing these games requires little movement, maintains a certain level of cognitive vitality by stimulating memory, logic, and cognitive skills.

Playing these games as a team also facilitates communication around a common activity, allowing for the rediscovery of self-esteem and the joy of playing.

Following the presentation of this console, the children from the Moulins Leisure and Activity Center will offer a show to the residents, followed by a “galette des rois” (a traditional French cake served during Epiphany).
