After the significant renovation work that updated it, the former Franciscan church has regained its place in the cultural panorama of Nice with the inauguration of the exhibition “Saint-François, The Time Regained.”
Until July 31, the people of Nice and visitors will be able to discover the secrets of this historically rich place.
Delighted, Christian Estrosi did not hide his happiness for “this first major patrimonial event of ‘My Summer in Nice’ in a magnificent venue, the result of relentless exposure work since 2009.”
He took the opportunity to thank “all the stakeholders who have returned this fragment of their history to the people of Nice.”
The Mayor of Nice confirmed that starting in May 2021, the Nice Theater will set up one of its rooms in the Church of the Franciscans, confirming its cultural vocation.
He also announced that “starting in 2024, to celebrate the 880th anniversary of our communal institutions, the neighboring communal Palace will be reopened, restored, and transformed into a place of remembrance of our history and identity.”
