This year, it will be possible to sell the small sprig of lily of the valley on May 1st at the corner of your street under almost normal conditions. However, restrictions on movement and public gatherings will remain in place for customers and vendors.
Last year, the lockdown drastically restricted the sale of these small white bells, leaving a bitter taste for industry professionals. Florists were only allowed to sell lily of the valley via delivery or storefront pickup.
On its website, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food indicates that “sales points operated on public roads by associations and individuals [must adhere to] the gathering limit of 6 people.”
It will be up to town halls to regulate the street sale of these flowers through a municipal decree.
