During the day, the Louis II stadium was occupied by teachers. They offered dance classes for both beginners and advanced dancers, featuring muy caliente styles.
And when the clock struck 6 p.m., it was time for the apprentice dancers to dine and especially to get ready for the exciting evening ahead. What an evening it was in the intimate hall of the canton!
By 9 p.m., everyone was dressed in their finest attire, ready for one of the most prestigious Latin nights.
At 10 p.m., the show began. The audience, amazed, couldn’t stop admiring the colorful costumes, the swift movements, but most of all, the mastery of body gestures and a most surprising technique.
The dancers? They had rhythm in their skin! No wonder, considering where these Salseros come from. With this cultural mix of top dancers from Spain, Cuba, Mexico, Colombia, Portugal, the USA, the Netherlands, Italy, Germany, England, and France, the performance was of very high quality!
Strangely enough, the best spots were those of the standing people. Carried away by el ritmo latino, they too flirted with the musical notes and were swept away by the sounds of Cuban salsa, Puerto Rican salsa, cha cha, samba, African dance, merengue, bachata, tango, and many others.
At 11:30 p.m., the show ended, giving way to entertainment. The spectators and apprentice dancers, in turn, offered their dance partners their best hip sways until 4 a.m.
So a big congratulations to Hamidine Thiam, a well-known and internationally recognized salsa instructor, and Grégory Salserno, an event and communication entrepreneur, for once again organizing a magical, colorful weekend.
Dance enthusiasts were delighted, and the uninitiated were enchanted.
What more to add, except… eagerly awaiting the 5th SalsaMonaco festival!
