Created in 1997, the daytime Samu Social of Nice is celebrating its 20th anniversary. On this occasion, it is organizing a photo exhibition that showcases the daily work carried out by employees and volunteers in the field.
They go daily to meet people in difficult situations, in all the sensitive areas of the city, through three modes of intervention: vehicle patrols in an identified vehicle, reporting, and appointments.
This testimonial exhibition will take place at the Maison de la Mutualitรฉ, this Tuesday from 4 pm – 7, avenue Gustave V.
To recount this impactful field experience with the most disadvantaged and to share the work accomplished, this photo exhibition will be itinerant during the first half of 2018 and will be offered to the different partners of the Samu Social of Nice*.
Over 20 years, 12,000 people have benefited from the support of the daytime Samu Social, 46,500 interviews have been conducted, 4,800 assistances have been provided to facilities, and more than 10,000 reports have been received in the Nice metropolitan area.
The action of the Samu Social helps to fight against the lack of recourse to rights by people “Without Stable Housing” by informing them of their rights, the existing facilities, and physically assisting them in their procedures. Beyond providing shelter at night, it is essential to help them during the day to regain social rights and engage in a process of care.
