Last year, in May, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the foundation of the Comunità di San Patrignano—based in Coriano, Rimini (Italy)—a project was initiated to revive and support the activities of this community in the field of prevention and care for people at risk of addiction.
It is through the establishment of the title “Ambassadress of San Patrignano” that San Patrignano revealed the role given to about twenty women living in different regions of Italy, distinguished by their profession, ingenuity, and knowledge in various fields.
Since March 2019, a new representative, a resident of Monaco, has joined the group: the Marquise Maria Ghilla di Canossa, who has committed herself in the Principality of Monaco to contribute to the cause of San Patrignano. Among the first Monegasque activities on the calendar, the Marquise di Canossa has chosen to promote, with the support of the Italian Embassy in Monaco and in collaboration with the Accademia Italiana della Cucina—and in coordination with the association Monaco Italia Hub—a solidarity meal composed of the best wine and food products directly from the Comunità di San Patrignano.
A tasting cocktail, followed by a dinner prepared by Executive Chef Laurent Colin, is scheduled for this evening at 7:30 PM in the Atlantique Salon and its terrace at the Hôtel Méridien Beach Plaza in Monaco.
The evening, conducted by Luisella Berrino, will allow guests to discover and appreciate the gastronomic excellence of the Romagna region, as well as participate in a rich charity bingo whose proceeds will be donated to San Patrignano and the Monegasque association BESAFE, presided over by Miss Camille Gottlieb. Among the speakers are several Monegasque personalities and the Vice-President of the San Patrignano Foundation, Mrs. Francesca Zanconato Scaroni.
“We are truly grateful to all of you for being the spokespersons and supporters of the community’s commitment,” said San Patrignano’s president, Piero Prenna, who will also be present at the evening: “Our ambassadresses are extraordinary women, many of whom are mothers, extremely sensitive to social issues. As soon as they met us, they understood the dramatic problem we face every day and the complexity of a structure like ours. We are convinced that they perfectly depict our reality and we hope that the number of ambassadresses will grow over time.”
The charity dinner is an initiative of the Marquise Maria Ghilla di Canossa, a recently appointed ambassadress of San Patrignano, whose role is to spread the mission contextually to promote opportunities for support and fundraising for the care center, which has always been free for children and their families.
The gastronomic dinner, organized under the auspices of the Italian embassy in Monaco and the Italian Academy of Cuisine, will allow participants to taste cheeses, cold cuts, and wines of the brand “Buono due volte – San Patrignano”. This will be followed by a dinner with a menu devised by chef Laurent Colin and a bingo with numerous prizes from the artisanal workshops of the Community.
Additionally, the artisanal flavors of Romagna, a rich and generous agricultural territory, will be highlighted from June 3 to June 9 at the restaurant Bella Vita, which will showcase the culinary excellence of the San Patrignano community, where the products are doubly good.
