As part of the Press and Media Week at school, the CM2 students of Saint Roch 2 school in Nice will transform, for a day, into budding journalists exploring their neighborhood and the people who make it up. Five articles will be produced during this day and will be published today starting at 2 PM on the front page of Nice Premium and in the school’s Scolaweb.
This Friday from 8:30 AM, in the teachers’ lounge transformed into a real newsroom, the students of Carine Mannarini and Sébastien Lefèvre’s classes will be in the starting blocks for their operation “The Schoolchildren Make the Headlines.”
The morning program includes: The operation will be launched by the deputy mayor of Nice in charge of Education, Lauriano Azinheirinha, followed by a visit to the Saint Roch House of Associations, where they will be awaited by Anne Ramos, the municipal councilor in charge of associative life, accompanied by her director, Guy Maurin. On this occasion, the students will have the opportunity to discover what a House of Associations is and then interview these personalities, as well as take the photographs that will illustrate their articles.
Next, it will be the turn of the Saint Roch market to receive a visit from these neighborhood “pitchouns.” A meeting with the market gardeners and the clientele of this typical neighborhood market will take place, and it will then be time to return to the newsroom to write the articles and choose the photos that will be used. At the end of the day, the articles will be published on the front page of Nice Premium and in the Scolaweb journal, for which Saint Roch school was one of the first schools to be equipped. The publication of the articles is scheduled from 2 PM onwards.
