The SDIS 06 received 3 defibrillators as a donation from the 20000 Vies association.

For several years, the association 20,000 Lives has been active through music concerts, with its president, Dr. Claude-Jean Mariottini, who is a rock-style composer-singer, to raise funds and buy defibrillators.

The reasoning behind this initiative is simple: cardiac arrest is a major problem in France. Every year, 50,000 people die at home due to cardiac arrest due to the lack of immediate and effective intervention. Thus, 15,000 to 20,000 lives could be saved (according to the French Society of Cardiology) with immediate intervention.

It is in this context that the donation of 3 training defibrillators to the SDIS by the association 20,000 Lives reinforces a long-standing partnership.

After already providing 3 CPR demonstration mannequins in 2018, the association is now offering new equipment. This new donation will allow firefighters to familiarize and train the public in the use of automated external defibrillators.

Charles Ange Ginรฉsy, president of the SDIS, later presented a firefighter’s helmet to Dr. Claude-Jean Mariottini to thank him for his commitment to SDIS 06.
