Christian Estrosi and Jean-Luc Gag, Municipal Councilor delegated to Literature, presented the strategy implemented in favor of literature and books from early childhood.
“The goal for the coming year will be to implement an ambitious policy based on creativity, diversity, richness, and the weaving of social bonds,” said the Deputy Mayor of Nice, who presented the new actions implemented to complement those already in place to allow all the citizens of Nice to benefit from the personal fulfillment and social promotion conferred by Literature.
This year, the “Reading for All” operation will take place for the first time at the Sainte-Marie psychiatric hospital in Nice.
Launch of “Heritage Readings.” To highlight the very rich collection of the Romain Gary Library, a cycle of four “Heritage Readings” will be offered to the citizens of Nice starting in December.
The principle is to link literature and heritage through a representative author of the collection, from Nice or elsewhere, who has mentioned Nice or written in Nice, in French, Italian, Niçard, or any other language (Smolett, Modiano, Le Clezio, Bonifacy, Apollinaire, Jules Romains, Louise Colet…)
The first reading of this cycle will naturally be dedicated to Romain Gary (Friday, December 5 at 6 PM Romain Gary Library, by Carine Maret, writer)
A cooperation agreement with the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) allows the free provision to users of the Louis Nucéra library of 2 stations for consultation of the INA collections.
They will thus be able to consult nearly 70 years of radio, 60 years of public television, and 9,000 media websites…
In 2015, a cultural update workshop for unemployed individuals and a writing workshop will be offered at the Louis Nucéra Library, in the premises of the Entraide et Partage association.
