The Seasons of Franco-Russian Gastronomy, with great French and Russian chefs, will take place from August 27 to 31 and will excel in their art from Monaco to Cannes during grand evenings in prestigious venues as well as in gourmet restaurants.
The Seasons of Franco-Russian Gastronomy are an intercultural exchange between the masters of gastronomy in Russia and France to develop and strengthen cultural and commercial relations between the two countries.
From 1862 to 1912, the French Gastronomy Weeks were held in Russia and France, combining the culinary culture of both countries. Today, the main idea of the Seasons of Franco-Russian Gastronomy is to continue the historical tradition established in the second half of the 19th century until the early 20th century.
The first season took place in Paris in 2009. In 2012, to mark the bicentenary of the war of 1812, the Russo-French Seasons were, for the first time, held in Moscow.
Besides the desire to present another facet of Russian gastronomy and to become acquainted with French cuisine, the project aims to promote contemporary Russian culture abroad. Particularly in France, where French gastronomy, an integral part of national culture, is listed as UNESCO heritage.
โI am convinced that Russia, once again, will attract attention to its gastronomic culture. Cuisine and restaurants are also a countryโs calling cards,โ says Natalia Marzoeva, founder of the Seasons of Franco-Russian Gastronomy.
