A partnership agreement has just been signed between the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur and the Fédération du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics des Alpes-Maritimes. The agreement aims to strengthen the links between training and businesses in the construction and public works sector, with a clear objective: the professional integration of the young people supported by the École de la 2e Chance.

An institutional partnership has been formalized in the Alpes-Maritimes. The initiative involves the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur and the Fédération du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics des Alpes-Maritimes (FBTP 06). The agreement is based on a convention seeking to intensify the collaboration between the two entities.

Dominique Estrosi-Sassone, president of the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur, and Patrick Moulard, president of the Fédération du Bâtiment et des Travaux Publics des Alpes-Maritimes, have signed this partnership agreement aimed at enhancing their collaboration.

The announcement is part of a strategy to bridge the gap between integration actors and the economic world. The construction and public works sector is among the identified areas. The targeted audience includes young people supported by the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur.

The objectives are clearly defined: “To promote construction and public works professions, inspire vocational interests, and facilitate the integration of young people supported by the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur into the construction and public works sector.”

This orientation responds to recruitment needs. The initiative also focuses on discovering professions and providing job access for young people.

Actions planned between the school and businesses

The convention outlines several areas of intervention. The actions concern both information, guidance, and employment. Young people remain at the core of the process. It is planned to “promote construction and public works professions to young people supported by the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur,” as well as to “develop meetings between member companies and young people supported by the school.” The text also mentions the intention to “facilitate access to guidance, training, and employment for young people from the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur within the construction and public works sector.”

These orientations translate into concrete actions. Several initiatives are mentioned in the convention. The partnership plans for “the sharing and dissemination of job applications from young people at the school seeking professional immersion, internships, or employment in construction and public works, as well as raising awareness, preparing, and assisting the young people from the school in the actions implemented by the Fédération within the framework of the partnership.” The actions cited include “Behind the Scenes of Construction and Public Works, professional fairs,” according to the convention. The stated objective remains to provide young people with useful knowledge for their orientation.

The text also mentions “the appropriation by the young people of the school of the tools offered by the Fédération.” The tools cited are “job sheets, the website lebatiment.fr.”

The partnership finally includes “the sharing of all recruitment and training information and actions.” The examples mentioned are “Operational Preparations for Employment, job dating events, training entries.”

Two structures with identified roles

The convention highlights the role of the École de la 2e Chance Nice Côte d’Azur. The second-chance schools are “based on a pedagogy different from traditional academic models.” The E2C aims for “the social, civic, and professional integration of the young people they host, with no other criterion than their motivation.”

The text specifies that this pedagogy allows “the development of skills, the construction of their personal and professional project, and thus gaining autonomy.” Young people who join an E2C benefit from “the status of professional trainee,” which includes “a remuneration and social coverage funded by the Region.”

In this context, the role of the Fédération is to “represent artisans and construction and public works companies in the department.” The mentioned interlocutors are public authorities, administrations, joint management organizations, and various public and private organizations. The Fédération also has the mission to “promote construction and public works activity and defend the interests of its member companies.”
