Secours Catholique is starting its annual national fundraising campaign until Friday, December 31, 2021.
“This campaign is a true call for support for our actions, which will allow us to continue working alongside people living in precarious situations and, together, to build a just and brotherly society.” Until Friday, December 31, 2021, Secours Catholique is conducting its annual national fundraising campaign.
“The association operates solely thanks to donations and sales made by volunteers. These actions are therefore particularly important to us,” reminds Karine Dziwulski, delegate of Secours Catholique Alpes-Maritimes.
“9 out of 10 households suffer from food insecurity.” As a reminder, in its latest report, Secours Catholique notes an increase in precarious situations in France.
Call for volunteers in Alpes-Maritimes
500: that is the number of volunteers distributed in 30 local teams who work in close partnership with associations, institutions, and social services of the Department.
However, the organization is looking for new volunteers to rebuild its network, which has been undermined by the health crisis.
“We need motivated people to give a little time, preferably on a regular basis. Come as you are, with the desire to get involved, with your flaws and qualities, your limits too. We will be there to support you,” explains Karine Dziwulski.
The association is open to everyone! There are different ways to engage with Secours Catholique. Animate a French class for foreigners, offer breakfast to homeless people at the day center in Nice, or lead a cultural or sports group workshop and support children and teenagers in their education.
Volunteers can also have a role of welcoming and listening to people in precarious situations at one of the 15 social reception centers or join one of the 4 solidarity shops (Menton, Puget-Théniers, Cannes, Antibes).
