Blue Week is a special time dedicated to senior-focused community life. The objective is to inform and raise public awareness about the contribution of retirees to economic, social, and cultural life, the concerns and difficulties faced by older people, and the achievements and projects of associations.
A wide range of free events
In this context, every year, the Social Action Community Center, the Nice Office of the Elderly (ONPA), and the City of Nice organize events focused on the interests of seniors. This year’s program includes shows, movies, concerts, and conferences…
More relevant than ever, is the House of Seniors, inaugurated last July in the city center (6, Avenue Félix Faure), which provides, in one place, all the necessary information for the daily life of the elderly, whether related to care, personal support, social, cultural and civic life, leisure, or travel. This facility is likely to concern nearly 100,000 individuals, as the senior population of the city of Nice amounts to 99,861 people, representing 28.92% of the municipality’s population (2007 data).
