The economic stakes and perspectives are significant with seniors representing 30% of the population in the 06. This proportion of seniors, 6 points higher than the national average (24%), is a real opportunity for the Alpes-Maritimes to position itself as a pioneer in its product and service offerings.
The growth of this sector, which includes 433 establishments generating 7,800 jobs (source: Silver Economy Economic Observatory Study Sirius CCI), is evidenced by these figures.
The benefits are measured in terms of economic growth and employment, as between 2014 and 2016, the number of companies positioned in the sector increased by 8% and jobs by 3%.
The Silver Economy market is structured into three categories of businesses:
(i) Those working in home care through a range of personal services (representing 4 out of 5 establishments in the sector and 2/3 of the jobs) and through the adaptation and securing of homes; (ii) Those offering solutions around health and e-health; (iii) Those developing offerings around “aging well” in the fields of leisure, tourism, and adapted sports, etc.
The CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur supports business and innovation partnerships in the Silver Economy sector, presenting their projects or innovations to decision-makers and investors to develop business opportunities.
For Jean-Pierre Savarino, President of the CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur, “The Silver Economy offers vast prospects for companies capable of adapting and innovating. By contributing to the structuring of this sector, facilitating networking, and especially gaining access to international markets, the CCI Nice Cรดte dโAzur positions itself as an accelerator of a full-fledged business sector. With the support of committed stakeholders, innovative projects like the Delvalle 2 project in Nice, the “Health, Well-being and Aging” Reference Center, and the Regional E-Health Interest Operation, our territory demonstrates its ability to meet an economic challenge.”
