The situation of the isolated communes of the Tinée on the way to a solution

Latest News

Due to a landslide, the Tinée valley (RM 2205) is blocked in both directions after Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée, at kilometer 35, since this Saturday, April 27 at 3:45 PM. The villages of Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée, Saint-Dalmas-le-Selvage, and Isola are no longer accessible.

Since yesterday, clearing has been carried out, and a partial reopening of the road has been implemented within a specific time window. Specific traffic slots are defined while waiting for the definitive reopening of the road*.

Christian Estrosi, president of the Metropolis, who visited the site twice, is in constant contact with the Mayors of the affected municipalities, Thérèse Fabron, Jean-Pierre Issautier, and Jean-Marie Bogini, who is also the President of the Metropolis Road Commission, with whom he has taken inventory of the organizational problems and coordinated the necessary intervention measures.

School Transportation

The Jean Franco college in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée will remain open to students.
Starting Monday, May 6, 2013, students residing in Puget-Théniers and Valberg will once again be able to access the college in Saint-Etienne-de-Tinée. The bus that will transport them will pass through the Tinée valley between 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM.

On Tuesday evening, a return with a connection at Saint-Sauveur-sur-Tinée, between the Jean Franco college and the Valdeblore Mountain Trade High School, will take place around 6:30 PM.

All useful information is provided to families via the Digital Work Environment (ENT) of the college, made available by the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes. This tool has allowed, since these recent events, students and their families to stay in contact with their teachers. Thus, virtual lessons have been able to be delivered.

The Departmental School of Snow and Altitude of Auron

The schools of La Roquette-sur-Siagne (village school), Saint-Laurent-du-Var (Gare 2 school), one class from Vallauris (Alphonse Daudet), and one class from Cannes La Bocca (Goscinny 2) will join the Departmental School of Snow and Altitude of Auron starting tomorrow. The buses transporting the 120 students will pass through the Tinée valley between 12:00 PM and 12:30 PM.
We thank you in advance for the attention you give to this matter.
