He wishes to adapt the population of the Alpes Maritimes to it. Through the smart Deal application, he wants the Alpes Maritimes to become one of the leaders in the digital field.

Yes, but… what exactly is the Smart Deal?

A digital transition plan, carried out since 2018, by the Departmental Council across the entire territory. Alongside the Green Deal (ecological transition plan), it constitutes one of the two major axes of the policy driven by Charles Anges Ginésy.

What is the objective?

The objective of the Smart Deal is to carry out projects that, through digital means, fulfill a twofold ambition:

  • Provide better service to users through the improvement of departmental administration
  • Address territorial challenges to improve the quality of life for residents.

The Smart Deal proposes to create an ecosystem that encourages the participation of all local life actors to bring about projects. These will enable the Alpes Maritimes to meet the challenge of digital transition.

Ambitions without limits

Several important cases are underway.

<img47116|center>

The first concerns the administration. The President of the Department’s aim is to have a 100% operational online administrative service by 2021.

Charles Anges Ginésy wants the Alpes Maritimes to become a benchmark in the field. A project far from impossible. In 2 years, 39 modernization actions have been launched. The first 18 in 2015, then 9 in 2016, and finally 12 in 2017.

Another area concerns the all-digital initiative with the deployment of Fiber to make the department the first in France by 2021. For this, 74,900 connections need to be installed and 3800 km of fiber laid. The work is already underway in this sector and currently involves 23 municipalities.

Fiber is not the only benefit the President of AM wants to offer his residents. He also wants the youth to find an interest in it. The Department therefore aims to provide middle school students with the best digital tools available. In 6 years, 55 middle schools have been equipped with tablets. These 6200 tablets are added to the 11,000 computers and 2700 video projectors, as well as the 650 interactive boards already installed.

At the same time, the Department has also provided 80 middle schools with a digital workspace. In 2015, the knowledge portal was also launched. This allows middle school students to access a resource bank on the artistic, cultural, historical, and scientific heritage of the Department.

But the President of the Department does not wish to stop there. He also wants to explore different areas such as:

the development of drone usage in public service missions
The deployment of sensors to assess road conditions, traffic, but also measure the impact of pollution and weather on the department.

Networking the region’s actors through new tools. As well as opening departmental data.

A participatory platform to give citizens a voice

To participate, nothing could be simpler, just connect to imaginonslesalpesmaritimes.fr, and submit your idea. It will be evaluated by the users. The highest-rated ones will be reviewed by the expert committee. Those selected will be implemented.
