For the eighth consecutive year, the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul is launching its National Campaign Against Solitude, under the patronage of Yves Duteil. This Thursday, November 15, 2012, at 8 PM at Ipag Nice, a round table and debate on the solitude of women will be organized.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul has been practicing “proximity charity” for nearly 180 years. Its volunteers meet with lonely elderly people, children left to their own devices who need guidance, distressed adolescents, unsupported mothers, unemployed individuals with no prospects, young people without jobs, fragmented families, close relatives of prisoners in painful situations, and life’s downtrodden…
The observations made by these 17,000 field volunteers confirm that solitude is increasingly synonymous with exclusion.
On Thursday, November 15, the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, with the support of the city of Nice, is organizing a round table/debate on the theme of women’s solitude at I.P.A.G.
