Building on its ever-growing success, this well-attended event, organized by the CDOS 06, continues to expand and refine its reach throughout the department with even more stages. In 2014, the Caravan will stop at 27 locations instead of 17 last year. The coast, as well as the midland and upland communities, benefit from this “turnkey” sports organization.
This Friday, the Sports Caravan managed by the Comitรฉ Dรฉpartemental Olympique et Sportif des Alpes-Maritimes (CDOS 06) will make a stop in the commune of Tourettes sur Loup at the City Stadium.
In partnership with the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes and the Departmental Directorate of Social Cohesion, this event is primarily a tool for promoting and developing sports, aimed at the youth of the community and tourists.
For this 6th stage in Tourrettes sur Loup, it will start at 10:00 AM and end at 4:30 PM.
Fourteen departmental committees will be present to offer children and young people aged 4 to 16 the opportunity to try out the sports presented for free*.
A “Red Card to Violence” stand will allow for communication on respect in sports through visual communications, quiz games, signing of charters, and awarding “Fair Play” cards to both children and parents.
Philippe Manassero, President of the Comitรฉ Olympique et Sportif des Alpes Maritimes, wishes to convey the Olympic values of respect, friendship, and excellence through the “Sports Caravan.” These values are the foundation upon which the Olympic Movement bases its activities to promote sport and education for a better world. The caravan also allows the departmental sports committees to promote their disciplines, reveal vocations, and share free sports moments with all the children attending.
This sports day will conclude with an award ceremony around 4:30 PM, where each participant will receive a T-shirt in the event’s colors, and a draw will allow one young participant to leave with a signed OGC Nice jersey and gifts offered by the credit agricole, partners of the sports caravan.
