As at the start of every summer, the sports caravan takes the stage in the Alpes Maritimes department. For two months, it will move around and offer various sports activities in 13 different locations.
Located on the forecourt of the Departmental Council in Nice, the sports caravan launched its season yesterday at the start of the afternoon. However, for this first stage, no activities were offered, just a symbolic presentation attended by Jean-Paul Serra, president of the Departmental Olympic and Sports Committee of the Alpes Maritimes, and Eric Ciotti, president of the General Council of the AM.
This weekend, Valdeblore-La Colmiane will host the caravan, which will offer young people no less than a dozen sports activities. There will be mats for wrestling and other martial arts enthusiasts, volleyball nets, basketball hoops, ping pong tables, and much more.
All this is available to children aged 4 to 16, and, as every year, at zero cost. Take advantage of it, make your sporty children happy. Sport should be an integral part of life. This gathering allows exchanges between young people and educators, representing a true vector of communication.
Activities for people with disabilities?
The CDOS 06, the Departmental Gymnastics and Boules Lyonnaises Committee are organizing sports initiations for people with disabilities. “This year, adapted sports activities have expanded in Nice. We would like to promote this idea during our tour and perhaps offer a disability-adapted caravan in the future,” rejoices one of the project leaders.
Once again this year, the organizers present between 100 and 200 children per day. A new success for the tenth anniversary of the associative caravan.
