This Monday, Agnรจs Rampal and Jean-Luc Gag unveiled the upcoming events that the city of Nice will experience by presenting at the Mediterranean University Center, the program for the 18th Spring of Poets, which has the theme “The Great Twentieth, One Hundred Years of Poetry.”
The Spring of Poets will take place from March 5 to 20 with, as every year, the same goal: to take poetry out of books and bring it to life.
The city of Nice will open its establishments to poetry enthusiasts, with meetings, concerts, conferences, as well as theatrical and musical readings and writing workshops. For the past 6 years, the City Hall has organized an annual poetry forum that allows everyone, children and adults alike, to express their poetic talents.
A contest is organized on the theme of “the great twentieth century or the dream of freedom” from Apollinaire to Bonnefoy, one hundred years of poetry that have allowed this art to grow thanks to significant works.
Seven winners will be selected and will have the honor of hearing their works read in public at the Louis Nucรฉra Library, on Saturday, March 5, 2016, at 3:00 PM, in the presence of the municipal councilor delegated to heritage and literature, Jean-Luc Gag.
Until February 10, all interested individuals can submit a poem of their own composition in a ballot box at the Louis Nucรฉra Library or send it by mail.
Only one poem of a maximum of 50 lines is accepted per person. Each poet must provide their full name, postal address, and phone number.
