This year, the Printemps des poètes will take place from March 5 to 18 with the theme “Childhoods”. Numerous events will be organized in Nice.
For its 14th edition, the Printemps des poètes will turn towards childhood. From March 4 to 18, upcoming events and workshops around “Childhoods” will take place at the Louis Nucéra Library, the Mediterranean University Center (CUM), and in neighborhood libraries. A theme that will evoke innocence, joy, lightness, and colors. All proposed events will be free and open to everyone.
Poetry Forum
From February 1 to 19, budding poets can participate in the Poetry Forum. This competition allows the people of Nice to write poems and share them. Children will have their own category and can participate in this contest. On March 6, the jury, chaired by Raoul Mille, writer and city councilor of Nice, will use this day to award prizes to the best submitted poems. The authors of the awarded poems will be able to come and read their work.
To participate, interested individuals must submit a poem of their own composition on the theme “Childhoods” into a ballot box at the Louis Nucéra Library or send it by email or by post. Only one poem per person will be accepted. The creations must not exceed one and a half pages, A4 format. Each poet must provide their name, first name, postal address, email address, and phone number.
Childhood Memories
The city of Nice invites its residents to participate in a collective and interactive work by recording their childhood memories. At the Louis Nucéra Library and the CUM, throughout the Printemps des poètes, a computer station will be dedicated to these audio recordings. Each person will have the opportunity, for 2 minutes, to bring a childhood memory into the present. At the end of the event, this collective work will be accessible on the CUM and Louis Nucéra Library websites.
