The STAR HandiVoile event, organized by the association Celebrities for Sports and Charitiesยฐ in Nice in October 2009, was nominated by the scientific council of the awards in the category of products accessible to everyone.
This choice was motivated by the originality of the event: a seafaring race in the form of match racing with the participation of celebrities teamed up with people with disabilities: on the adapted sailboats, the celebrities were coached by paraplegic individuals whereas on the catamarans it was the other way around.
This event was sponsored by Florence Arthaud and Jean Galfione with the participation of, among others, the visually impaired Sandrine Filippini, a council member of the city of Nice, champions Stรฉphane Diagana, Xavier Le Draoullec and the late Pierre Quinon, singer-actress Indra, journalist Olivier Galzi, actors Anne Richard, Antoine Coesens, and Jean-Marie Juan.
And in collaboration with Sails for All, the General Council of the Alpes Maritimes, EDF, and the Nice Nautical Club.
