“We also want job seekers to benefit from this very positive dynamic of recovery, which is why the additional plan is in place. 800 euros to train job seekers, particularly those who have been unemployed for a long time, to engage in these training programs,” states Elisabeth Borne.

The Minister of Labor explains that this measure would cover part of the related expenses, such as transportation costs.

As a reminder, on Friday, October 1, a reform of unemployment insurance came into effect. According to Unedic, this involves a reduction of unemployment benefits by approximately 17%.

In order to promote long-term employment, this reform involves extending the required working period to qualify for unemployment benefits.

It also introduces a reduction of unemployment benefits for high-income individuals and advantages and penalties for companies that favor short-term contracts.

However, the duration of benefit payments is extended from 11 months to 14 months. In other words, the amount of aid for job seekers will decrease, but the duration of compensation will be longer. Unions have announced that they will file appeals.
