Last year, in 2015, “only” 525,091 companies were created in France. It’s a lot, but 4.7% less than the previous year.
It is notably the number of micro-entrepreneur creations that has seen a sharp decrease (-21.2%), as revealed by Insee. Now, micro-entrepreneurs only represent two out of five creations, whereas they accounted for more than half of the creations a year ago.
Is the microenterprise status now less appealing to budding entrepreneurs? It seems so.
Is it related to the economic crisis and the prevailing gloom?
The auto-entrepreneur regime, accessible since January 1, 2009, experienced rapid and immense success among business creators from its launch. More than half of business creators in 2009 were auto-entrepreneurs.
