The steering committee is an advisory body composed of the region’s economic stakeholders, elected officials, and senior executives, tasked with proposing the strategic guidelines for the economic development of the Metropolis.

Established in June, it meets quarterly and is co-chaired by Philippe Pradal, Rudy Salles, and Christian Tordo, all three direct collaborators of Christian Estrosi in the Nice municipality and the metropolis.

Gathered in recent days, they analyzed the state of health of the territorial economy, which, apparently, is not doing too badly (even if it is never quite good enough).

The balance of the summer season is largely satisfactory: after a beautiful month of April, the July 14th ceremonies helped to convey a positive image of Nice worldwide, with a 10% increase in overnight stays in July and encouraging results for the restaurant sector as well.

A special note was presented on the development of the large Arรฉnas: the necessity to quickly move forward on the construction of the exhibition park at the heart of the Grand Arรฉnas, a key project for our region’s economy, was reaffirmed. The deliberation of the EPA’s Board of Directors should allow progress after the blocking by the Departmental Council.

Business tourism was highlighted as an area of great interest, but competition is fierce.

Regarding the presentation of the metropolitan PLU in the near future, emphasis was placed on land reserves, a necessary condition for development:

Finally, the launch of a territorial marketing strategy by the Metropolis was formalized through the upcoming call for tenders.

These conclusions satisfied Mayor-President Christian Estrosi, who commented: “I commend the work carried out by all committee participants who recognized the community’s efforts in the economic domain.
