This weekend, for its 20th edition, the “Roulez Carros!” festival is pulling out all the stops and offering 20 performances throughout the city.
These 20 performances will provide an eclectic program (circus, dance, theater, music, magic, paradesโฆ) that will meet the expectations of all audiences, in every neighborhood of the city: the new town and its streets via a grand parade, the forest park, Belvรฉdรจre square, the forecourt of the City Hall, the parking lot of Juliette Grรฉco hall; in Carros Village through the village’s alleys, at the Barbary amphitheater, Puy square; as well as at Carros Plains, Louis Frescolini square.
During these 20 years of the festival, many companies have made a lasting impression with their ability to transform public space by bringing forth, through their creations, beauty, ingenuity, humor, and outburstsโฆ
Live performance remains a fleeting art. Fleeting, yes, during the time of the show, but the emotions last long. This gathering demonstrates the need for sharing, for being together, which takes precedence over the so-called individualism that would characterize our society. Being together, indeed, standing, means playing, laughing, exchanging, inventing, listening, watching, proposingโฆ
That’s what this festival is all about: an artistic, political, social, ecological engagement, and a celebration. Because we can have a celebration with eyes and arms open to the world.
The festival is organized by the Forum Jacques Prรฉvert association, which aims to facilitate, develop, and promote access to culture for children, women, and men through artistic practice and by disseminating live performances.
