The Departmental Museum of Asian Arts in Nice was the venue for the launch of the 19th edition of the summer evenings.

soirees_estivales-2.jpg Eric Ciotti, deputy president of the General Council of the Alpes-Maritimes, just launched the nineteenth edition of the summer evenings. The ceremony took place at the Departmental Museum of Asian Arts, in front of a large audience, who could sway to the rhythm of the Beatlovs, Bario Cuba, and Golden Jazz Band groups throughout the evening.

Once again, the summer evenings will continue the tradition of live performances by offering free and varied events to the entire population of the Alpes-Maritimes; transforming the squares of towns and villages into immense stages.

From June 27 to September 28, no less than 415 performances will be given by more than 1,000 artists in 150 towns of the department.

As is customary during the summer evenings, local artists, whether confirmed or not, will be in the spotlight. Musicians, singers, actors, storytellers, and dancers will perform, outside their usual confines, in the prestigious locations of coastal towns, in the ancient squares of villages, in churches, under big tops, and in community halls.

Through all these performances, the department aims to promote culture everywhere and for everyone.
Both in terms of duration and the number of artists involved, shows offered, and audiences present, the summer evenings have been, since their inception in 1996, one of the highlight events of the summer on the Cรดte d’Azur.
