The Super Finale of the 2019 Tour Voile invites you to Nice!

Latest News

Act 7 of the 2019 Tour de Voile has kicked off in Nice on the Promenade des Anglais. After a journey from north to south, the competition concludes this weekend with the final race and the much-anticipated Super Finale!

An extraordinary level is present as every year in Nice“, said José Cobos, Nice’s sports deputy. And it is with a high level that the sailors of the Tour must equip themselves to win the Super Finale awaiting them in Nice.

Here are the reactions of the top three crews in the general classification. These are three French teams for whom everything is at stake this weekend.

Valentin Bellet (Team Beijaflore): “It’s crunch time. We are happy to approach this final Act with a small cushion of lead. We have our little ideas on how to approach these last two days, but we will adapt obviously…”

Sandro Lacan (Team Réseau Ixio – Toulon Provence Méditerranée): “We love being in this hunter’s position. We are not in the same qualifying group as Beijaflore and Poujoulat today. We hope to measure ourselves against them at the end of the day…”

Robin Follin (Cheminées Poujoulat): “We’ve been thinking a lot for a few days about the different possible scenarios. We would prefer to be ahead in the General standings, but the hunter’s position has a comfortable aspect, maybe we feel more liberated, thinking we have nothing to lose. This day is decisive; it will condition tomorrow’s matches in tomorrow’s Super Finale. The Tour will be decided by a few points; everything depends on today.”

The Super Finale

The Final, decisive for the podium, takes place on Sunday the 21st, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, starting from the Quai des États-Unis. Eight qualified teams take this final start, reset to zero. The winner earns 50 points and wins the Stades Nautiques day.

Better understanding the Tour de Voile

Now in its 41st year, the Tour Voile is one of the must-attend sailing events today. Each July, French and international sailors come together for a shared passion. Participants are divided through two events: the Stades Nautiques and the Coastal Raids.

Over 17 days of stages on 7 different bodies of water, the greatest sailors compete to win the great summer classic. Come and find out on the Promenade des Anglais who will succeed Team Lorina Limonade Golfe du Morbihan, led by Quentin Delapierre, winner of the previous edition?

The arrival of the winner on the Promenade is scheduled for 5:15 PM.

Good race!
