Around 2:30 p.m., the BRI and the Raid intervened in the perfume city where this 45-year-old man suspected of being the author of the ten shots that claimed the life of a young mother last Wednesday evening on Boulevard Napoléon III.

Subject to Two Arrest Warrants

Actively sought by law enforcement for three days, the man was subject to two arrest warrants, one national and the other European. Investigators suspected indeed that the alleged shooter had left French territory.

“Born in 1980 in Portugal, the individual is placed in detention for a maximum duration of 24 hours in the execution of the arrest warrant and will subsequently be presented to the instructing magistrate in charge”, clarifies the public prosecutor of Nice, Damien Martinelli.

The suspect, O.M.V, is reportedly a sports agent for the city of Nice responsible for opening the gym to students after classes. The suspect is said to be a former partner of Lizabete’s mother, known to be a violent man.

A substantial criminal record. O.M.V. was, according to the established phrase, “well known to the authorities.” Nice Matin reveals that the suspect had already been convicted several times in Portugal, his native country, for “armed robbery” and “simple assault.” In France, old charges of driving without a license are also mentioned by the prosecutor.

But O.M.V has also been suspected of rape. According to several sources, the investigation was finally closed in 2014 due to lack of evidence. Five days before Lizabete’s execution under the eyes of her baby, the suspect is said to have been taken into custody for violence. The police now have 24 hours to confirm this version of events.
