The remarks of Eric Ciotti, President of the General Council: « Once again, the swimmers of the Alpes-Maritimes represented our department with flair, fervor, and determination at the French Championships in Dunkirk. Admiring their performances, I extend my heartfelt congratulations for their qualification for the London 2012 Olympics. Finally, I want to pay special tribute to Alain Bernard, the first Olympic champion swimmer from the Côte d’Azur, who did not qualify for London. He remains a great champion and an example for all French swimmers. »
It is important to highlight the exceptional results achieved by Yannick Agnel and Camille Muffat, who broke several French records and won all the events they participated in. The Olympic relay qualifications of Charlotte Bonnet (16 years old and the youngest athlete of Team 06) and Clément Lefert.
These four swimmers are all part of Team 06, a group created by the General Council to support and encourage athletes and their clubs in preparation for the London Olympics.
This group consists of 27 athletes representing 11 disciplines, licensed or with very strong ties to the Alpes-Maritimes.
These results are a tremendous encouragement just 4 months before the London Olympics.
A big bravo to all these champions from Olympic Nice Natation, to coach Fabrice Pellerin and the support team, for these results!
