The Taste of Nice: The Metropolis Serving the Producers

Latest News

After 3 years of preparations, the mayor of Nice, Christian Estrosi, is inaugurating a “house of terroir” on Jean-Jaurès Boulevard. A new challenge for the city, which wishes to highlight regional products and artisan producers, all in premises that combine modern design with Provençal influence.

Wine, jam, olive oil… So many products that tourists and locals of Nice can discover without having to travel far. The store Le Goût de Nice collaborates with 23 producers for 230 products available for purchase. Enough to develop the local terroir and showcase the craft of artisans from the Nice region. Until now, consumers had to go to the producer to buy their products. Now, they can find in this location a range of food, condiments, and natural cosmetics from different producers.

The setting combines modernity, with screens and transparent elements, and Provençal influences with floors made of orange tiles and partially stone walls.
The store offers professionalism, quality, and the presence of many official labels. It also guarantees 100% local products. To realize this project, the metropolitan area of Nice invested 1.1 million euros and entirely completed the work on the premises.
Starting from the new school term, tastings and cooking workshops for children and adults will be set up, thanks to the installation of a kitchen on the upper floor.
