The Week of Taste 2011 in Nice

The 22nd edition of the National Week of Taste will be held from October 17 to 23.

As every year, numerous events are planned throughout France.

In Nice, the week of taste is themed around “grandmotherโ€™s recipes.”

Discovery tables and election of the best recipe of the week

The staff of school cafeterias offers children the opportunity to have lunch in a setting that echoes the “kitchen of our Nice grandmothers.”

Cookbooks, checkered tablecloths, and various utensils will be placed on the tables. Economists will present to children, at each meal, ingredients that are used in the making of “our Nice grandmothers’ recipes”: garlic, basil, onion, eggplant, zucchini, pepper, tomato, rosemary, lemon, squash… all ingredients that are included in the dishes served during the week of taste in Nice.

An election of the best recipe of the week will take place in 14 schools in the city of Nice. Each day, students will rate the dishes they have tasted and will designate their favorite dish at the end of the week of taste!

Why a Week of Taste?

The week of taste aims to develop the education and learning of the young consumer while having fun and to promote dietary behaviors that align with a balanced lifestyle.
